This incredible deadstock vintage black velvet Givenchy skirt suit is heavily embellished with black sequins and lace.

The black velvet jacket has incredible lace and sequin swirls on the bust and the front of the hips. The v-neck jacket is collarless, fully lined and has shoulder pads, which gives this jacket some structure. We love the bold gold tone starburst and black enamel buttons on the jacket. 

The fully lined skirt is all lace and sequins with a black velvet waistband. There is an abstract sequin pattern all throughout the skirt and it closes with a side zipper and hook and eye.

This skirt suit is unworn and was originally sold at Saks Fifth Avenue and was purchased by this owner when it was on sale for $3299. The tags are still attached on the jacket and on the skirt.

Made in France in the 1980's. The velvet fabric is 59% Viscose and 41% Cotton. This is labeled a size 42 and it has the Couture Givenchy label.
